The much-talked-about pairing of Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz fell to an early exit in the US Open’s mixed doubles competition on Tuesday, losing their first-round match and failing to win a set.

The much-hyped pairing of Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu was bounced in the first round of the new U.S. Open mixed doubles event on Tuesday.

This summer, Raducanu took time out from her schedule to watch the five-time Grand Slam champion in action at Queen's and Wimbledon. Alcaraz responded to her support by saying he would like the opportunity to return the favour, but always followed her games on television where possible.
