Delta Air Lines has announced three new nonstop routes from Austin, as the airline prepares to open a new flight attendant base in the city in October.

Delta's decision to swoop in comes shortly after Southwest Airlines closed its own flight attendant base in Austin this summer. The carrier is also going head-to-head with Southwest by offering Southwest's A-List and A-List Preferred Members elite status if they switch loyalty to Delta, in a promotion that runs through Sept. 30.

Earlier this spring, the airline launched three additional direct flights from AUS to Indianapolis; Jacksonville, Florida; and Memphis, Tennessee. Other direct Delta destinations offered out of AUS include flights to Atlanta, Detroit, Seattle and more.
