Two rock bands have essentially swapped members after a surprise firing. The Foo Fighters have hired Ilan Rubin to be the band’s new drummer, replacing Josh Freese, according to multiple reports.

Josh Freese has revealed that he has been asked to leave the Foo Fighters, two years after he was recruited to replace drummer Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins died in 2022 at the age of 50.
