( MENAFN - IANS) Shillong/Imphal, Nov 18 (IANS) A day after withdrawing support from the BJP-led government in Manipur, National People's Party (NPP) supremo and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday said that there is no confidence left in the Regime of Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the trouble-torn state.

The NPP's withdrawal of support for Manipur's BJP government highlights growing dissatisfaction with the handling of ethnic violence, though the BJP retains a majority and remains in power, facing increasing pressure to find a political solution to the crisis.

IMPHAL: Amidst the rising ethnic violence and withdrawal of support from the BJP government by the National People’s Party (NPP), Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has called a meeting of NDA MLAs on Monday evening to discuss the situation and to take a further course of action.

Amid the ongoing crisis, the National People’s Party (NPP) announced its withdrawal of support from the BJP-led government in Manipur. In a strongly worded letter to BJP president JP Nadda, NPP chief and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma criticized the Manipur administration for its inability to restore order and resolve the crisis.

The NPP holds seven seats in the 60-member legislative assembly, but the move is unlikely to destabilize the government, as the BJP maintains a clear majority with 32 seats.

The development comes amid the National People's Party (NPP), which has seven MLAs in the 60-member Manipur Assembly, withdrawing support from the BJP-led government, claiming that the N Biren Singh dispensation has "completely failed to resolve the crisis and restore normalcy" in the northeastern state.
