Poland's Armed Forces Operational Command said on social media on Wednesday that no violations of Polish airspace from neighbouring Ukraine or Belarus were recorded overnight. Officials initially said the explosion may have been caused by a part of an old engine with a propeller.
Poland has claimed a Russian military drone with a self-destruct warhead crashed and exploded in farmland in the country’s east, calling the move a “provocation” by Russia amid global efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
A Polish general said early evidence points to the drone having a Chinese engine, and that it was likely "flying very low" to avoid radar.
