After six days with a five-foot-long water monitor on the loose, a self-proclaimed reptile expert drove out to Webster to find the talk of the town.

WEBSTER ― No one can say Peter Tarbox doesn't have a sense of humor. He lives near Blueberry Lane, where a 5-foot lizard with sharp teeth called a water monitor escaped from its owner's home nearly a week ago and is still on the loose. Authorities say it was an unlicensed pet.
