Fire crews in southern Kentucky are continuing efforts to contain a large wildfire burning in McCreary County.
Officials said crews are beginning to focus more on extinguishing hot spots until the fire is deemed fully out.
The U.S. Forest Service said it estimates the Alum fire in McCreary County is 1,100 acres and 72% contained as of April 18.
The Alum Fire in McCreary County has grown to 990 acres and is currently 10% contained as crews work to suppress the flames.
A wildfire has grown hundreds of acres since first being reported.
