Hawaiian Airlines Credit Card Companion Discounts Now Valid on Alaska Airlines
If you carry a Hawaiian Airlines credit card, there’s some good news you should be aware of. The card’s companion discounts — long limited to Hawaiian Airlines flights between Hawaii and the mainland — just got a major upgrade.
Hawaiian Airlines is saying goodbye to its HA callsign this month after almost 100 years of the airline’s existence. The commemorative flight, HA 866, will take off on Oct. 29. After that, the flight will assume Alaska Airlines’ callsign AS as the two companies integrate under a single operating certificate.
The airlines will switch to a single callsign, which is expected at the end of October. Currently, Hawaiian Airlines flights are designated by the callsign of HA, followed by the flight number, which pilots use to communicate with air traffic control.
Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines integrate booking systems, cabins, and loyalty programs, uniting networks under Alaska’s leadership while maintaining distinct brands.
