The Athletic's Corey Pronman recently ranked the top NHL players and prospects who are under 23 years old. Without much surprise, a good amount of the players listed were from the San Jose Sharks.

SAN JOSE – Artemi Panarin has likely played his last game with the New York Rangers, with the Eastern Conference’s last-place team expected to keep the star winger and pending unrestricted free agent out of its lineup until a trade to a playoff contender is finalized.

San Jose Sharks recently agreed to trade Cole Clayton and two second round picks for Kiefer Sherwood. Will Sherwood play tonight vs. Canucks?

The Sharks should be buyers at the upcoming NHL trade deadline, and they should be the team to make the Artemi Panarin deal.

Forward Kiefer Sherwood’s debut with the San Jose Sharks will have to happen at another time. The injured Sherwood traveled to Vancouver and took part in the Sharks’ morning skate on Tuesday at Rogers Arena but will not play against the Canucks as San Jose opens a five-game road trip.
