AUSTIN, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas House has passed the bill for redistricting by an 88-52 vote in a preliminary vote. The vote comes after Democrats left the state to break quorom and avoid a vote. The House passed the bill in a second reading then adjourned for a few minutes to come back and vote again after a third reading.

The House speaker ordered chamber doors locked, and democratic lawmakers now need written permission to leave.
