A blaze that broke out in a Cairo central telecommunications building disrupted some services in Egypt, according to the National Telecom Regulatory Authority.

At least 22 people were injured after a fire broke out on Monday in a key telecoms data centre in Cairo, the spokesperson of Egypt's health ministry told Reuters, as disruptions of communications across the capital were recorded.

Officials in Egypt's capital say a fire has engulfed a telecom company building in downtown Cairo, injuring at least 14 people and prompting a temporary outage of internet and mobile phone services.
