The concept of a new Metal Gear Solid without Hideo Kojima feels like a wild thing to say, even ten years after he left Konami, but that's the state of the world we're in. We'll see if Konami's future generation of developers are up to the task, as well as if they can win over longtime Metal Gear Solid fans.

Metal Gear Solid Delta has been a long time coming and, you'd think, has been the subject of some truly tortuous soul-searching at Konami HQ. Metal Gear remains the company's biggest series yet one that, until 2023's Master Collection, it seemed scared to touch, let alone move forward.

Beyond the story, the well-loved minigame "Snake vs. Monkey" makes a return. Delta also boasts a nice suite of options, too, including some unexpected notables such as the ability to customize the user interface (UI) and a handful of subtitle choices, too.
