FBI agents have been searching the home of Donald Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton, US media reports. Photos posted by some US news outlets show police vehicles and personnel in the area near Bolton's home in the Washington DC suburb of Bethesda, Maryland.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe provided FBI Director Patel the intelligence that was the basis of the search warrant , a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Sources familiar with the matter told ABC News that the search, carried out by the FBI, was related to allegations that Bolton is in possession of classified records.
