A brand-new snowfall map from the National Weather Service shows sharply higher projections across the tristate area for the powerful winter storm arriving Sunday, Jan. 25 and continuing into Monday,
The weather service issued a Winter Storm Warning that will remain in effect from 3 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday. The warning is issued when at least 6 inches of snow is expected within the span of 12 hours or at least 8 inches is forecast within 24 hours.
The National Weather Service warned of “considerable disruption to transportation and daily life” from Sunday into Monday.
A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Friday at 4:58 p.m. for gusty winds and heavy snow until 10 p.m. for Oneida, Cayuga, Onondaga and Madison counties.
