Fever star Sophie Cunningham is out for the season after a collision with Connecticut Sun player Bria Hartley. She doesn't believe Hartley was smiling afterward, despite what some fans think.

Cunningham said she’s in “good spirits” after suffering a season-ending knee injury and doesn't think Bria Hartley intended to hurt her.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham left the floor with an injury during Sunday’s game against the Connecticut Sun after going down with an injury that had her screaming in pain. Cunningham joined the Fever during the offseason and has had an eventful first few months with the team.

After Cunningham went down with a tough knee injury during the two teams' game on Sunday, Mabrey was one of the first people to run toward the Fever star with an outstretched towel in hand — ready and prepared to shield her from cameras and fans while the team figured out how serious the injury was.
