Turning Point USA previously announced that it will be holding its own halftime show in competition with the NFL’s featuring an unspecified collection of performers. House Speaker Mike Johnson nominated 83-year-old Lee Greenwood to replace Bad Bunny as well.

The petition, which now has over 50,000 signatures, states that George Strait should replace Bad Bunny because he “embodies the heart and soul of American music," and has the “ability to transcend generations with his timeless songs [that resonate] with a diverse demographic."
