Maine State Police investigate suspected homicide after finding a dead paddleboarder, Sunshine Stewart, in Crawford Pond.
UNION (WGME) -- Maine Game Wardens say the body of a woman was recovered from Crawford Pond in Union Thursday. Wardens were called to the scene around 1:05 a.m. to help search for a missing paddleboarder. The woman's body was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy.
The teenager who was arrested in connection with the murder of missing paddleboarder Sunshine "Sunny" Stewart is likely familiar with the area, per reports. Stewart, 48, was found dead on July 3, a day after she went missing while paddleboarding on Crawford Pond in Maine’s Knox region, Maine State Police previously said.
