After a slight delay to the program due to the Dodgers and a gripping World Series finale, LACMA’s fundraiser rolled on with an emotional speech from the ‘Sinners’ director and a captivating Doja Cat performance.

The LACMA Art + Film Gala is an annual fundraising event to support and benefit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The 2025 edition of the event honored American artist Mary Corse and filmmaker Ryan Coogler. Proceeds for the event benefit LACMA’s film initiatives.

The move to unionize comes as LACMA nears the end of a radical redesign over a decade in the making. The $750 million David Geffen Galleries, designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, will replace four older buildings to create a single gallery structure spanning Wilshire Boulevard.

The union would represent more than 300 workers at the museum across departments including curatorial, education, publications and more
