A powerful winter storm is expected to bring up to 16 inches of snow and frigid temperatures to the NYC area, including parts of NJ and CT, this weekend.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The latest forecasts indicate that the weekend snow will transition to sleet for a period of time. This change in precipitation could impact accumulation amounts and prove particularly hazardous for New York City residents.
New York City subways and buses will keep running throughout the weekend snowstorm, the MTA said. NJ Transit, however, warned of possible suspensions.
Hundreds had to be evacuated at the 17-story building before a severe winter storm is set to hit most of the United States.
