This beast exceeded the size of existing elephants by reaching 13’ tall at the shoulder and weighing 11 tons (!). They roamed across Europe and Asia from ~2.5 Ma to ~800k before going extinct. I presume climate change did them in as itwas replaced by M. trogontherii
