A pan around Knaresborough Viaduct, sweeping round to take in the railway station, the town, and the castle all in one go. The viaduct was completed in 1851 for the railway between York and Harrogate, carrying the line high over the River Nidd on a long run of stone arches. It’s one of those structures that doesn’t just cross a valley - it defines it, and it’s impossible to separate the view of Knaresborough from that curve of masonry. Remembrance Day – 11 November🌺 Knaresborough is beautifully decorated for the Remembrance period, with striking poppy displays in the Castle grounds and poppy flags throughout the town.
