This is Brihadisvara Temple in Thanjavur. This is referred as the great living chola temple. Now you know the reason why. This is pure engineering marvel. There are two more temples nearby it which are grouped with it in UNESCO. We will talk about them in next reel. Builder & Era: Constructed by Chola Emperor Rajaraja I (985-1012 AD) and completed around 1010 CE. Dedication: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, housing a towering Brihad-lingam. Architecture: A masterpiece of Dravidian style, built from gran
