Vintage style sewing isn’t fast, but it is certainly rewarding! I’ve dreamed of creating an homage to Glinda’s “Dancing Through Life” dress ever since the first Wicked film sparkled onto the screen, and this season I finally pulled out all the sewing stops to make it happen. Think spiral steel boning, layer upon layer of inner structure, a crisp horsehair hem, and handmade silk bias straps. There’s a quiet joy (and some frustration, let’s be real) in building something this involved by hand… but
