I am very fortunate that one of my main filming locations for barbel is on the River Wharfe, on waters managed by the Wetherby & District Angling Club. This area is ideal due to its depth, water clarity, and the opportunity to enter the water and film the fish in their natural environment. I am also able to film barbel of all year classes, from newly born juveniles to fully grown adults. Baby/young Barbel. Unused clip from the documentary "RIVER WHARFE A Living Artery" At one section on the river Wharfe come the beginning of august ( every year) for a 6 week period the young barbel and baby barbel turn up in this shallow section and feed heavily.
